The Genesis of Unscripted Pivots: My Journey to Amplifying Women's Strength in the Face of Change

We all have our own unique journeys and often, they're anything but linear. That's definitely the case for me. Once upon a time, I stepped into the world of higher education with a dream of cradling newborns as an obstetrician. The thought of being part of such profound moments in people's lives thrilled me. Unfortunately, my ambitions and my chemistry grades weren't quite on speaking terms – it turns out that calculus and I were never destined to be best friends. A reality check with my guidance counselor led to a detour away from the medical field.

But every detour can lead to a new and exciting journey, and mine led me to the halls of law school. Life took a fast turn there. I got married fresh out of college at 22, marking the beginning of law school and marital bliss simultaneously. Three whirlwind years later, I had a law degree under my belt, a successful bar exam behind me, and the title of practicing lawyer in my home state of New Jersey.

My law career, however, was brief. The tug of motherhood was too strong to ignore, so I swapped my attorney's briefcase for diapers and full-time parenthood, raising four wonderful children. After my youngest turned one and a half, the professional world called me back. Through a twist of fate, I found myself stepping into the vibrant, fast-paced realm of commercial title insurance. It was supposed to be just a re-entry point to the work world, a stepping stone of sorts. Little did I know that what was meant to be temporary would become a 22-year long affair, and here I am, still deeply immersed and loving it.

But the story doesn't end there. Parallel to my real estate journey, a new chapter has opened – one where I'm a certified executive coach for women. Over the past couple of decades, I've had the privilege to meet countless incredibly talented women at work conferences and client meetings. Their stories were filled with courage, ambition, and resilience, but also a familiar struggle. Many of us grapple with maintaining work-life balance, asserting ourselves at work, feeling confident in public presentations, and overcoming the dreaded impostor syndrome. Too often, we are our own harshest critics. Trust me, I've been there.

Through hard work, soul searching, and practicing new ways of living, I've learned how to navigate these challenges. My experiences have inspired me to become an executive coach, specifically for women, helping them find their voice and place in the professional world. This journey has also led to the creation of my podcast, "Unscripted Pivots," an ode to my mission to uplift women, magnify their voices, and celebrate their achievements.

In life as in work, we women wear many hats. My story is a testament to that, and through my work, I hope to empower others to embrace their own multi-faceted journeys. Remember, the best paths in life are often the ones that aren't straight. As showcased in my podcast, we've all encountered those jaw-dropping moments that I affectionately refer to as Women that Flourish (WTF) moments. With a combination of faith and curiosity as our compass, we can wholeheartedly embrace the twists and turns that come our way! As your dedicated coach, I am here to assist you throughout this transformative journey.
